Osaka Family-Friendly Events for Kids in 2026
Sakura Expo at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park

Poppy and Nemophilia Festival at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park

Blurb: This popular spring flower event is a lovely choice for families who want to see colorful poppies and nemophila in bloom.
LEGO Animal Adventure
Dates: February 6, 2026 – April 19, 2026
This limited-time LEGO event adds an animal theme to a great indoor family attraction in Osaka, which is conveniently located right next to the Kaiyukan Aquarium. My daughter absolutely loves Legoland, and it’s always a fun bonus when there’s an event going on.
Abeno Q’s Mall 15th Anniversary Event
Dates: January 17, 2026 (Sat) – April 26, 2026 (Sun)

Hankyu Train Festival 2026 in Hankyu Sanbangai
Dates: April 1, 2026 – May 6, 2026
Train-loving kids will likely enjoy this themed festival, which brings railway fun to a central shopping and dining area in Umeda.

Fans of the Aipri (Aipuri) anime and game series may enjoy this themed collaboration at Hirakata Park, which adds a character-focused element to a classic family amusement park.
Ultraman Event
Dates: April 18, 2026 – June 28, 2026
This special exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series with large-scale displays, photo spots, exclusive merchandise, and themed content for longtime fans and families alike. It looks super fun for kids (and parents) who enjoy the series.
Birds: New Avian Classification Revealed Through Genome Analysis
Dates: March 14, 2026 – June 14, 2026
This special exhibition looks at how genome analysis is reshaping the bird family tree, but it is presented in a way that goes beyond pure science. The exhibition starts with the origin and early evolution of birds from theropod dinosaurs, then moves through a series of themed sections showing different bird groups and what makes them distinct. There is also a life-size reconstruction project of Pelagornis sandersi—described as the largest flying bird in history.
If your kid is fascinated by birds and science like mine is, then this is a great option.
Note that this museum can get extremely crowded on weekends and holidays.
Tomica Expo
Dates: April 28, 2026 – May 6, 2026
This limited-time Tomica event features giant dioramas, attractions, and special displays, making it a fun choice for kids who love cars and rescue vehicles.
Detective Conan Cafe
Dates: April 10, 2026 – May 17, 2026; May 20, 2026 – August 2, 2026
This limited-time themed café celebrates the latest Detective Conan movie with a nostalgic “Port Town Retro” concept, character-themed food, and exclusive merchandise. It looks like a fun pick for Conan fans and families with older kids who enjoy anime-themed dining experiences.
